About Chapman Bespoke Woodwork

Andy Chapman started his career in woodwork at the age of 16 as an apprentice at Beckwith and Sons antique furniture restoration in Hertford. During his three years with Beckwith and Sons he refined his natural flair for woodwork by making some notable pieces, such as refectory tables made from 16th century oak, a deep carved oak sign for the front of the premises and highly intricate, scaled down versions of bow fronted chest of drawers.

Along with this he also perfected the highly skilled crafts of: French polishing, marquetry (veneering), handmade dovetail joints, wood-turning and cabinet making.
